Drinks at Pogo

With a huge drinks menu of beer, wine, sparkling, and plenty of fresh and fragrant cocktails, you’re sure to find something for everyone. We tried the Persian Lime Fizz and Strawberry Negroni Special cocktails – which were so delicious! They also have a great range of mocktails and soft drinks for the non-drinkers among us.

Our Dining Experience

Pogo’s menu is designed for sharing and features traditional Middle Eastern flavours with a contemporary spin. We loved the whipped Hummus & Pita with spiced lamb and the house-baked flatbread with burnt butter and toum (we had to ask about Toum – found out it is a Lebanese garlic sauce). Just amazing flavours all-round and the deep-fried crispy pita with the hummus was a revelation!

For mains the Zaatar Fried Chicken with aleppo mayo, pickled cucumber and curry leaf was delicious. As were a couple of grill items – the Wagyu Beef Skewer with burnt cucumber, dynamite sauce and crispy shallots plus the Spiced Chicken Skewer with burnt honey glaze, smoked yoghurt and fermented pumpkin. Yum was all we could utter! To satisfy the three-veg rule, we added the Roaster Cauliflower and Crispy Potatoes. (2 out of 3 isn’t bad!)

Dessert is our favourite part of every meal, and Pogo didn’t disappoint!

Desserts at Pogo in Mount Hawthorn, Perth

We ordered a Chocolate & Cardamom Frozen Mousse which was silky and delicious. However, we did miss the s’mores topping that we’d seen on their Instagram feed before visiting. Our second choice was the Fried Yoghurt Bread (think doughnuts) with cinnamon and honey, which were so good we ordered a second serving. It’s rare to see desserts under $15 these days in Perth, but Pogo certainly delivers here as every dessert on their menu was $10 or below.
