Avalon – Claremont

If you’re looking to truly impress, Avalon is one of the most elegant date night restaurants in Perth. Located beneath The Grove Residences in Claremont, every detail has been carefully considered—from embroidered linen napkins and beautiful glassware to the softly lit interiors that create an atmosphere that’s sophisticated without ever feeling pretentious.
The menu draws inspiration from Greek and Italian traditions while celebrating exceptional Western Australian produce. During our visit, highlights included the Champagne Sabayon Scallops, delicate Zucchini Flowers and what may well be Perth’s best Beef Wellington – wrapped in perfectly flaky pastry and served with asparagus and a rich Verdehlo sauce. Desserts were equally memorable, particularly the Chocolate Tonka Lava Cake.

Avalon also offers excellent weekly specials, including Steak & Cellar Wednesdays and BYO Tuesdays, alongside live music throughout the week. While it certainly sits at the premium end of Perth dining, the exceptional food, attentive service and luxurious atmosphere make it one of Perth’s best special occasion restaurants.
Samuels on Mill – Perth CBD

One of our favourite date night restaurants in Perth is located inside the beautifully restored Parmelia Hilton in the CBD. Samuels on Mill combines contemporary elegance with warm West Australian hospitality. The elegant dining room has rich timber finishes, cosy booths, moody lighting and an impressive wine wall create the perfect setting for a romantic dinner in Perth.
Led by Head Chef Albert Liusanto, the seasonal menu showcases premium WA produce from coast to country. We’ve visited several times and have consistently been impressed by both the generous portions and refined execution of every dish. Their house-made tiramisu has become a tradition whenever we visit.

Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or simply treating yourselves to an indulgent evening, Samuels on Mill delivers polished service, outstanding food and one of Perth’s best wine selections.
Harry’s at Conti – Woodvale

Hidden within the grounds of Paul Conti Wines, Harry’s at Conti is one of Perth’s most surprising fine dining experiences and definitely on of the best date night restaurants in Perth. Led by internationally trained Executive Chef Harry Yakinthou, the restaurant delivers refined Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with French influences in a welcoming, relaxed setting.
Signature dishes include the incredible Caramelised Onion Tarte Tatin and an outstanding Beef Wellington carved tableside. The desserts are among the most creative we’ve experienced anywhere in Perth, with the spectacular La Pomme en Verte and Rum Baba au Chocolat both unforgettable.

One of the most unique touches is the opportunity to visit the kitchen and meet Chef Harry during your meal, making the entire experience feel personal and memorable. For food lovers looking one of the most special date night restaurants in Perth, this one is worth the drive.
Vin Populi – Fremantle

Few restaurants capture the romance of Europe quite like Vin Populi. Nestled within Fremantle’s historic West End, this intimate Italian wine bar feels as though it’s been transported directly from Rome.
There are no printed menus here. Instead, seasonal dishes are handwritten daily on chalkboards, showcasing the freshest local produce alongside authentic Italian ingredients. During our visit, the Gnocchetti Alla Vodka, Tagliatelle Osso Bucco and perfectly creamy Tiramisu were all exceptional.

With vintage Italian music, exposed plaster walls, mosaic flooring and one of Perth’s best Italian wine lists, Vin Populi is the sort of place you’ll want to return to again and again.
Brighton Wine Bar – Scarborough

If ocean views are part of your perfect date night, Brighton Wine Bar delivers one of Perth’s most beautiful settings. Located opposite Scarborough Beach, this stylish neighbourhood wine bar champions local produce and showcases an all-Australian wine list featuring more than 200 labels.
The menu is deliberately compact but beautifully executed. Standout dishes during our visit included the Fremantle Octopus, Black Angus Eye Fillet and decadent Chocolate Torte.

Arrive before sunset, order a glass of WA wine and settle in for a relaxed yet sophisticated romantic dining experience at one of the newest date night restaurants in Perth.
Le Vivant – Highgate

Le Vivant offers all the charm of a Parisian neighbourhood bistro without any of the pretension. Tucked away along Beaufort Street, this intimate French-inspired restaurant has become one of Highgate’s most beloved hidden gems.
The signature Baby Goat Shoulder, slow braised for over 20 hours, is reason enough to visit, while the baked Camembert and beautifully curated international wine list complete the experience.

Add moody lighting, eclectic interiors, vinyl DJs on weekends and a hidden courtyard, and you’ve got one of Perth’s most effortlessly romantic restaurants.
Pearla & Co – North Fremantle

Created by acclaimed WA chef Scott Bridger, Pearla & Co brings refined coastal dining to North Fremantle. The beautifully designed restaurant combines recycled jarrah flooring, a stunning marble bar and fresh herbs picked daily from its own FoodCube garden.
Seafood takes centre stage here, with beautifully prepared oysters, dry-aged fish and locally sourced shellfish showcased alongside seasonal produce. During our preview visit we sampled everything from tuna tartare and crab toast cigars to octopus skewers and chilli mussels, with every dish highlighting the quality of WA’s incredible seafood.
It’s a sophisticated yet welcoming venue that’s perfect for couples who love fresh seafood and beautiful coastal dining.
Zypher Lounge – Perth CBD

For something a little different, Zypher Lounge blends premium Japanese fusion dining with sophisticated late-night cocktail bar energy. Chef Evan Bang’s creative menu includes premium Japanese A5 Wagyu, Crispy Rice Tuna Poke, Wagyu Tacos and one of our favourite dishes – the Crispy Eggplant with Sweet Miso.
Pair dinner with one of their Tokyo-inspired cocktails or a sake flight before enjoying live DJs later in the evening. It’s ideal for couples looking for a date night that seamlessly transitions from dinner into drinks.
