Yahava KoffeeWorks has long been a favourite for coffee lovers in the Swan Valley, and now the team is brewing something even bigger. Set to open in 2028, Yahava has announced plans for what’s believed to be Australia’s largest publicly accessible walk-in coffee roastery, located just two doors down from its current West Swan Road site.

The new Yahava will span an impressive 17-acre estate with direct frontage to the Swan River, offering not just more space, but an immersive coffee experience unlike anything else in Australia.

“We’ve outgrown our current space, both physically and creatively,” says co-owner Alastair Ingram. “This new site will allow us to triple our roasting capacity, expand our café and drive-thru, and bring our dream of a fully immersive coffee experience to life.”

From the moment visitors arrive, they’ll be taken on a journey that brings the story of coffee to life. The experience begins with a walk-through, cinematic re-creation of a coffee plantation complete with hyper-realistic visuals, ambient sounds, and even the sensation of soil beneath your feet. Guests will then move into a projection space simulating the processing of coffee beans before massive double doors reveal the heart of the venue: Yahava’s state-of-the-art roasting floor.

Inside, visitors can explore the entire working roastery, watch live roasting demonstrations, and sample a rotating selection of beans and blends at interactive brew bars. Coffee education will be a big focus, with free and paid workshops covering everything from perfecting espresso extractions to milk texturing and coffee blending.

The venue will also include a full kitchen, riverfront dining areas, a nature playground for kids, and a vision for a small on-site coffee plantation in future years.

Yahava currently employs around 65 people, and with this expansion, that number is expected to nearly double across areas like hospitality, roasting, education, customer experience and even horticulture.

Founded in Margaret River in 2001, Yahava Swan Valley opened in 2009 and has become a much-loved part of the local community. Co-owners Alastair and Kerry Ingram, alongside long-time hospitality operator Jake McAuliffe, now lead the brand with a strong focus on direct-to-consumer experiences and coffee education.

Whether you’re a seasoned coffee enthusiast or just love a great brew in a beautiful setting, this upcoming expansion is set to make Yahava a must-visit destination in WA.
